In Tamil Nadu, especially in Coimbatore, homeowners are getting a wonderful surprise — a total solar subsidy of up to Rs 1,00,000 for rooftop solar panel installation. This combined subsidy from Central and State governments makes rooftop solar affordable like never before.
If you are paying an electricity bill of more than Rs 3,000 per month, you are the right person to install rooftop solar on your home. Those who own electric two-wheelers or EV cars can also reduce their electricity bill by using their self-generated electricity through the net metering mechanism.
The 1 kW, 2 kW and 3 kW prices after both subsidies, and the claim steps, are on our rooftop solar subsidy page.

The Central Government is already running the PM Surya Ghar scheme with a subsidy of up to Rs 78,000 (capped at 3 kW). Now, the Tamil Nadu Government has announced an additional subsidy of Rs 22,000 for 3 kW (capped).
Combined, the total subsidy for a 3 kW on-grid rooftop solar system comes close to 50% of the total cost including GST — this is a wonderful option for homeowners to go solar.
The PM Surya Ghar scheme has already announced that it will end in March 2027. The Tamil Nadu State subsidy (supported by TNPCDL) is about to launch in a few days. With both subsidies available right now, the financial burden of capital investment for on-grid rooftop solar is reduced greatly.
Coimbatore people have wide knowledge of renewable energy. The city is now known as the solar on-grid hub of South India. The demand for rooftop solar in Coimbatore is growing rapidly, and the city has one of the highest adoption rates in Tamil Nadu.
Any homeowner with an EB (Electricity Board) connection can apply for this subsidy. The subsidy is not for the person — it is for the electricity connection. If a customer has two or more separate EB connections and is living separately in the same building, each connection can avail separate subsidy.
Apartments and common service connections with more than 4 houses are also eligible for the above subsidy.
The subsidy amount will be credited directly to the beneficiary's bank account. There is no malpractice in this process. The beneficiary can upload their bank details through their own mobile app. Important: The TNPCDL electricity consumer name and bank account name must be the same for subsidy release.
The TNPCDL electricity service connection name and bank account holder name must be exactly the same for the subsidy to be processed. If there is a name mismatch between the two, PM Surya Ghar portal will not accept the application and the subsidy will be rejected.
If the customer name in TNPCDL service connection is "G Vinoth Krishnan", but the bank account name is "Vinoth Krishnan Gunasekaran" — the PM Surya Ghar portal will not accept this. Even though it is the same person, the system treats it as a mismatch.
If the subsidy is rejected due to a name mismatch, we help our customers to change the name either in the bank account or in the TNEB official records to make both names match. Once the names are corrected, we reapply for the subsidy on behalf of the customer to complete the redemption process.

We are an approved vendor for both Central and State Government subsidy schemes. We help you claim the subsidy directly to your bank account. We have already completed more than 500 installations and successfully claimed subsidy for more than 450 customers. You can check our subsidy claim track record on the PM Surya Ghar official portal — it is all verified.
We do the whole installation on a turn-key basis. We are the only company doing it this way — from A to Z, all work is handled by our team. We also support customers for a smooth bank loan process.
We have our own qualified installation team with more than 15 years of experience in the solar field, along with BE Electrical Site Engineers. All our customer data is kept confidential and stored encrypted in our CRM.
We use only BIS, MNRE approved and ISI marked products in every installation. To check our quality of products and installation workmanship, we plan to arrange a visit to our existing customers' homes (with their approval).
We are a multi-brand vendor. We provide all leading brand solar panels:
For inverters, we use:
Here is another surprise and good news — hybrid solar systems are also eligible for this subsidy. The main advantage of a hybrid system is that it comes with a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery.
Customers planning for hybrid have multiple options:
Customers choosing hybrid can install the hybrid inverter first. If power cuts come in the future, they can add the battery at that time. All primary arrangements like the battery box can be installed during the initial setup itself.
In recent days, we have observed that 80% of customers are planning a higher capacity inverter for their home with 3 kW solar panels — they are planning for their future needs. Within a couple of months after solar installation, many customers buy a new electric car or electric bike. At that time, having extra panels already installed is a great idea.
The same approach applies to hybrid systems too. Customers are now installing hybrid inverters first. When they need battery backup, they add the battery later. This forward-thinking approach saves money and time.
